Avesthagen has established 'ATASH SEEDS PVT. LTD.' as a vehicle to deliver the latest Agbiotechnology technologies developed within Avesthagen dealing with agricultural productivity and production. The forefront technologies developed by Avesthagen and desperately required in India and the developing world are: HybridFIT^TM, DroughtFIT^TM and SalinityFIT^TM; whereas the developed world would benefit greatly from our NutritionFIT^TM technology.

 As a strategic model, Atash acquired a fully integrated field crop seed company, Swaghat seeds, with a porfolio of Hybrid Seeds of crops: Cereals, Maize, Grain Sorghum, Pearl Millet, Rice, Fibre Cotton and Oilseed Sunflower. The company is in the process of acquiring another seed company in India, Continental Seeds, which complements the Swaghat crop portfolio with certified seeds of Wheat and Paddy to access most of the 168mn planted acres in India. Atash would become a platform for building a leading, technology-led, people-driven seed company with a vision of "Seeding Growth". Atash/Swaghat business would be a profitable enterprise in 2007-08, its first year of operation and would rapidly grow to become a key player in the USD 1bn Indian Seed Industry.
