Dr. Seetharam Annadana, VP – Commercial (Seeds & Traits)

Dr. Seetharam Annadana has Over 10 years of experience in R&D in the Biotech sector with main focus on GM crops. His Core competence lie in managing Molecular Biology oriented R & D projects in Agri Biotech sector. He has over the years gained a lot of Expertise in setting up Agri Biotech labs for GM crops, Molecular markers, tissue culture, etc. He has have successfully executed various projects viz., Established Biosafety facilities for contained and confined field testing for Industry, has been part of team on capacity building in Biosafety for UNEP GEF program in Kenya, consultant to UNIDO on biofuels, recently prepared a DVD on contained and confined field testing For Donald Danforth Plant Science Institute, PBS, USAID. Technology sourcing, marketing and updating is his pet forte in the areas of interest to the seed, biofuel and biopharma industry. Before joining Avesthagen he put in ten years as a free lance consultant and represented several multinational companies in India. He Provided AFLP services to breeding companies as a co-ordinator for Keygene genetics, managed research assignments on plant functional genomics for Plant Research International, developed franchises for Wageningen University to provide web based biotech education. He also has expertise on the basis of learning by doing in areas like organic agriculture, medicinal plants, nutraceuticals and post harvest processing technologies. Dr. Annadana has a basic degree in Agriculture, with a MSc and PhD in Agricultural Biotechnology. He is a member of IFOAM, ICCOA, ABLE, AIBA, FIHI and a host of other organizations.
