Job Summary: Director of Sales
We are a manufacturer of nutraceutical and botanical ingredients looking for an experienced Director of Sales. This individual will work with existing customers worldwide as well as prospect and develop new ingredient business for our diverse product line. Candidate must have a strong background in the functional food, beverage, cosmeceutical and dietary supplement markets. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for achieving sales and profitability goals within the framework of the company’s overall business objectives.
Managing existing accounts as well as prospecting for new accounts; client targets include major food, beverage, nutraceutical and cosmetic companies
Focus on new business development, call on and collaborate with customer’s Research and Development departments to secure new business and new contracts
Essential Duties: Introduce new customers to Avesthagen/Renaissance products and capabilities. Partner with customers to determine product recommendations that best meet customer needs; secure all data–including samples, product data sheets and pricing as required. Penetrate current customer base to generate additional business. Work closely with marketing to identify and pursue opportunities to replace competitor products and develop new product sales. Initiate sample and project requests; calculate costs and generate pricing. Create new clients through networking activities by developing prospects through corporate contacts, trade associations, industry associates or personal market contacts. Maintain active contact & association with technical associations. Ability to interface at high level with R&D departments as well as marketing and purchasing is essential. Work with management to develop sales projections; create detailed reports to document objectives and performance. Education; Technical degree in Food Science or related field from four-year college or university; and eight years related experience in selling raw materials. Ability to communicate complicated and technical concepts to customers. Experience in selling to food industry a plus.US residents only. Competitive base pay and commission; bonus structure and excellent benefits. This position requires 50% travel throughout the US. Can live anywhere in the US.
